Job summary

Baxter is seeking an Automation Technician in the United States to build, install, troubleshoot, and support automated manufacturing equipment that keeps operations running efficiently. You will apply electrical and automation expertise, ensuring safety, reliability, and peak performance.

You will collaborate with engineers and manufacturing teams across projects, contributing to continuous improvement while embodying Baxter's commitment to health and well-being.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical controls wiring, automation equipment assembly, or industrial automation support.
• Experience reading electrical schematics and diagrams and interpreting 2D/3D drawings.
• Proficiency using electrical test equipment and diagnosing automation equipment.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Experience wiring from power distribution through control logic and I/O devices.
• Experience supporting equipment installation, FAT/SAT, and field service projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical and pneumatic assembly, installation, startup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of automated manufacturing equipment.
• Build, wire, test, and troubleshoot electrical control panels, high- and low-voltage systems, and automation components (PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, robotics, vision systems, sensors).
• Support mechanical assembly, equipment integration, FAT, SAT, and field installations.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams, and engineering drawings for installations and modifications.
• Use electrical test equipment to diagnose issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Provide technical feedback and document field changes with engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Provide training to plant personnel on equipment operation and best practices.
• Travel as needed for installation, commissioning, startup, and service activities.
