Job summary

Intellectt Inc in Illinois is seeking an experienced Automation Technician to support injection molding automation systems, robotics operations, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance. You will program and troubleshoot molding robots, maintain PLCs/HMIs, and collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability, productivity, and product quality.

This contract role offers hourly compensation on W-2 and requires 2–5 years of hands-on experience in injection

Qualifications

2–5 years of experience in injection molding automation or a related field.
Hands-on experience with robot programming and troubleshooting.
Strong understanding of PLCs, HMIs, and industrial sensors.
Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and resolve issues involving robots, conveyors, sensors, and vision systems.
Program, troubleshoot, and optimize molding robots for part handling, degating, and packaging.
Modify robot paths and sequences to improve cycle time and product quality.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automation equipment.
Replace worn components and calibrate sensors and actuators.
Maintain robot program backups, maintenance records, and equipment performance logs.
Support molding trials, new product launches, and automation setup activities.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and Kaizen and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Ensure automation equipment operates safely and complies with applicable quality and regulatory standards.
