Join to apply for the Automation Technician II - Industrial role at Baker Group.

Purpose: Automation Technicians will support Project Managers and System Engineers in creating, installing, and commissioning PLC/HMI/SCADA systems, as well as network and device integration work.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: The following duties are typical for this job and not exhaustive. Other duties may be assigned:

1. Complete start-up and commissioning of new control systems, service and maintain existing installations, diagnose faults, repair hardware, and modify programs on customer sites.
2. Diagnose and resolve technical problems on job sites; report findings to Project Management or Operations Leaders via email, SharePoint, OneDrive, or other repositories.
3. Participate in project kickoff and turnover meetings to understand project scope and finalize documentation.
4. Organize and maintain control submittal project redlines; submit to design engineer for as-built drawings.
5. Collaborate with other technicians to develop technical solutions.
6. Engage in technician training to stay updated on new products, tools, and integrations through continuing education.

Minimum Education & Experience:

• Associate’s degree in Robotics, Automation, Technology, or related field, or 3-5 years of experience with PLC/HMI systems in lieu of degree.
• Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.

Competencies:

• Knowledge of at least one PLC software (e.g., Rockwell, Modicon, Mitsubishi).
• Knowledge of at least one HMI software (e.g., FactoryTalk View, Wonderware).
• SCADA platform knowledge (e.g., Ignition, GE iFix).
• Familiarity with Windows applications and repositories (OneDrive, SharePoint, GIT).
• Understanding of network communication and basic process controls.
• Effective communication skills and ability to travel approximately 25% for work.

Environmental and Physical Requirements:

• Sitting at a desk, lifting up to 20 pounds, fieldwork on construction sites, exposure to weather conditions.
