Job Description

This position is for an IAS/ATG/OPS/GVS Electronics Technician. Working alone or in small teams, this individual will perform testing and maintenance functions on Automatic Tank Gauging Systems, Independent Alarm Systems, Overfill Protection Systems, and Ground Verification Systems at Department of Defense installations across the United States and the Pacific region.


The Electronics Technician ensures proper operation of fuels accounting, alarm monitoring and controls, and leak detection equipment. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and installing electronic components and electrical systems using hand tools and testing instruments. The technician must keep organized, detailed records of work performed.


The role involves coordinating travel to customer sites, managing material stocks, maintaining safety equipment, and supplying basic hand tools & testing equipment. Effective communication with dispatchers, managers, and installation teams is essential to maintain schedules and convey delays to customers. The individual must also be able to submit weekly travel expense reports.


Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of various systems at Department of Defense installations across the continental United States, Caribbean, Hawaii, Japan, Guam, and Diego Garcia.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Ability to acquire and maintain U.S. government security clearance and/or CAC
  • Ability to acquire and maintain a corporate credit card
  • Willingness to travel 100%
  • Ability to forecast workload and manage effort within the scheduled workweek
  • Valid state driver's license
  • High school diploma or equivalent; formal electronics training from a technical school, military school, or completion of a four-year electronics apprenticeship
  • Four years of practical experience in electronics repair, integration, fielding, and checkout
  • Ability to acquire necessary certifications for regional equipment maintenance, including manufacturer training and UST certifications
  • Proficiency with Windows OS and Microsoft 365 applications
  • Physical ability to kneel, lift up to 50 pounds, work at heights up to 50 feet, and operate safely in confined spaces
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Four years of experience with installation, removal, maintenance, and testing of fuel handling components
  • Experience with government fuel accounting systems (AFHE, FMD, FAS, BSM-E, ATG)
  • Experience with Automatic Tank Gauging Systems (Veeder-Root, Ronan, Enraf, Barton, Pneumercator, Temposonics/MTS, ProGauge, E&H)
  • Experience with Independent Alarm Systems (Scully, Magnetrol, E&H, Fafnir, Mercoid, Omnitrol, Pneumecator, TLC, Bindicator, Devar, Systems, PLCs)
  • Experience with Overfill Protection or Ground Verification Systems (Scully, Varec, Fafnir, PLCs)
  • Experience with data communications (copper wires, fiber optics, wireless)
  • Must obtain CAC within 30 days and applicable equipment certifications within five months of hire
Pay and Benefits

This position is covered by the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA). Wage range is determined on a contract basis by the Department of Labor.
