Tetra Tech Digital Systems in Williston, ND is seeking an experienced Automation Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) Specialist to support FAT, SAT, commissioning, and startup readiness. You will verify PLC, HMI/SCADA, instrumentation, communications, and control system functionality, and document results.

The role requires 5+ years in automation, strong troubleshooting and coordination with vendors and project teams. Travel and flexible hours are expected, with a mix of field, lab, and office work.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in automation, instrumentation & electrical (I&E), commissioning, controls, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Support FAT activities, vendor testing, and deployment readiness.
• Verify PLC, HMI/SCADA, instrumentation, communications, and control system functionality.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Automation Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) Specialist based in Williston, ND to support automation execution for oil & gas facility projects. This role focuses on Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning support, controls verification, issue tracking, and startup readiness. The ideal candidate will have strong automation and troubleshooting skills and can verify system performance while coordinating with project teams, technicians, and vendors.

Note: This is not a primary PLC programming role.

Key Responsibilities

• Support FAT activities, vendor testing, and deployment readiness.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting FAT, SAT, startup, or controls checkout activities.
• Understanding of PLC-controlled equipment, instrumentation, and industrial control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret control narratives, P&IDs, electrical drawings, Cause & Effect matrices, and I/O lists.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.

• Red Lion DA70 or similar edge devices
• FlowBoss, ROC, or FB3000 flow computers

Work Environment

• Combination of field, lab, office, vendor, and remote work environments.
• Rotational schedule of 14 days on / 14 days off, supporting project execution and field operations.
• Travel required based on project needs and assignment location.
• Flexibility to support startup, commissioning, and project schedules, including extended hours and weekends when necessary.
