Airgas USA, LLC in Tucson, AZ is hiring an Automation Technician to service plasma and oxy/fuel cutting systems and robotics, install equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and troubleshoot onsite.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in advanced automation or 2 years mechanical repair with the Airgas Apprenticeship, can read electrical schematics, and are skilled with welding processes; two weeks of company-paid training are provided.

Formación

  • Must have minimum of three years of Advanced Automation service experience or two years of mechanical repair experience and completion of Airgas Automation Technician Apprenticeship program.
  • Established track record or completion of the Airgas Apprenticeship program may supersede educational requirements.
  • Must have a broad knowledge of welding, cutting and fabrication processes common to the Airgas customer base including but not limited to manual, semi-automated and automated welding processes.
  • Ability to read, write and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Knowledge of welding and power equipment from many different suppliers.

Responsabilidades

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
  • High School Diploma with Associate Degree Industrial Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Technical School preferred.
  • Must be able to apply mathematical formulas that quantify the costs associated with the processes so analysis and comparisons may be created.
  • Ability to be a team player with positive attitude towards other associates, customers and work environment.
  • Must be self-motivated, success oriented, mechanically, technically and detail oriented.
  • Ability to be flexible and able to “shift gears” in the face of interrupted schedules, canceled appointments and unfulfilled promises.
  • Must be proficient with computer applications including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
Aviation Technician Duties

The Automation Technician associate performs service work on plasma, oxy/fuel cutting systems, and robots. This position is also responsible for installation, preventative maintenance, onsite troubleshooting and service, and component repair. Performs component upgrades while ensuring a safe working environment. Committed to safety and following company policies including the use of personal protective equipment. Collaborates to troubleshoot cutting systems, components and robots. Services components at customer sites on hard automation with mechanical and electrical issues. Ideally brings a strong understanding of Welding Processes and Applications, Automation Motion devices, cutting systems, robotics software and controllers in order to collaboratively discuss and address issues, provide training, and navigate and solve complex technical challenges. Helps maintain quality standards by testing, calibrating, and running machines according to manufacturer’s specifications. Supports team clarity by completing service documentation in a timely and accurate manner. Maintains a clean, organized and safe work environment by ensuring all health and safety guidelines are followed both at Airgas and customer facilities. Responsible for attending two weeks of company paid training per year focused on advancing the technician's ability to serve our customer base. Works closely with customers as a trusted partner to foster strong relationships and deliver shared success for the customer and RDA. Maintains accurate and timely expense reporting.
