Job summary

Agropur, inc. in Wisconsin seeks an Automation Technician I to troubleshoot, maintain and repair a wide range of PLC-controlled equipment, HMIs, sensors and motors. You will read electrical schematics and P&ID diagrams, calibrate plant floor equipment, and perform preventive maintenance.

The role requires an Associate's/Technical Degree in Electrical Technology and at least 1 year of related experience. You will use CMMS for documentation and contribute to RCA and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Associate's or Technical Degree in Electrical Technology or related field.
• Experience with reading mechanical drawings and electrical schematics including knowledge of redlining schematics for updates.
• Experience with wiring electrical control panels or equipment remote actuators and inputs and outputs as well plumbing equipment, pneumatic or/and hydraulic lines required.
• Experience planning, selecting, testing, installing and maintaining equipment and other systems required.
• Minimum one (1) year of related experience required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor Automated Systems using AllenBradley PLCs and a computer.
• Troubleshoot the automation system using various PLC programs.
• Monitor and troubleshoot HMI systems, making adjustments or modifications as needed.
• Perform checks and calibration of plant floor equipment.
• Perform scheduled and corrective maintenance work.
• Interpret and update electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, P&ID diagrams and redlined plans.
• Complete documentation for scheduled maintenance work.
• Install new electrical circuits (sensors, motors, VFDs, valves, actuators).
• Document maintenance tasks using a CMMS system.
• Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement initiatives.

The Automation Technician I uses knowledge of electronics, mechanics, automation and computer-controlled systems to troubleshoot, maintain and repair a wide range of automated production equipment. This includes work on PLC-controlled equipment (AllenBradley), HMI systems, instrumentation, sensors, motors, and other components essential to plant operations.
