Job summary

Technimark is seeking a hands-on Automation/Maintenance Technician in Texas to uphold safety standards, run and fine-tune automation systems, and support production start-ups and continuous improvement efforts. You will document maintenance activities, troubleshoot complex systems, and mentor junior technicians in process excellence.

The role requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, reading schematics, and a proactive approach to improving OEE.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety guidelines to maintain a safe work environment and ensure housekeeping standards are met.
• Maintain equipment reliability by executing preventive and corrective maintenance tasks and documenting activities in the asset management system.
• Record and maintain all shift production data for all work centers in the IQ system.
• Start up and operate automation systems; adjust axis positions and parameters; implement minor programming changes on automation equipment, robots, PLCs, and other assets.
• Replace, repair and improve mechanical and electrical components.
• Troubleshoot servo-driven systems, vacuum circuits, and PLC-controlled machinery using multimeters and schematics.
• Support training and development of technical associates in process excellence through classroom instruction and on-the-job training.
• Assist with production start-ups and changeovers related to automation equipment, including leveling, squaring, centering components, and relocating equipment.
• Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned by the Manager or supervisor.
• Perform facility maintenance and repair to support building and infrastructure upkeep.
• Serve as a troubleshooter for automation and related issues during development runs.
• Train shift operators on proper operation of automation systems to improve equipment performance and OEE.
• Act as a subject matter expert providing machine and process knowledge for preventive actions regarding safety, quality, delivery and cost.

Job description

• Responsible of follow all safety guidelines, for maintaining a safe work environment and sees that all shop safety rules are being followed, and all housekeeping standards are met.
• Responsible for ensuring equipment reliability by executing preventive and corrective maintenance tasks and documenting all maintenance activities within the company's asset management system.
• Responsible for ensuring all shift production data is properly recorded and maintained for all work centers in the IQ system.
• Responsible for starting up and operating automation systems, adjusting axis positions and preset parameters, and implementing minor programming changes on automation equipment, robots, PLCs, and other mechanical and electrical assets.
• Responsible for replacing, repairing and improve mechanical and electrical components.
• Responsible for troubleshooting complex servo-driven systems, vacuum circuits, and PLC-controlled machinery using digital multimeters and technical documentation, including mechanical drawings and electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics.
• Responsible for supporting the training and development of technical associates in process excellence through classroom instruction, on-the-job training, and mentoring.
• Responsible for assisting with production start-ups and changeovers related to automation equipment. Duties may include, but are not limited to, leveling and squaring automation and robot end-of-arm tooling, centering mechanical components, and relocating automation equipment as needed.
• Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned by the Manager or direct supervisor.
• Performs facility maintenance and repair activities, as required and assigned, to support building and infrastructure upkeep.
• Serves as a troubleshooter for automation, secondary equipment, and related issues during development runs.
• Responsible for training shift operators on the proper operation of automation systems to help improve equipment performance and overall OEE.
• Serves as a subject matter expert by providing machine and process expertise in the investigation, analysis, and implementation of preventive actions related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.
