Danos, LLC is seeking an Automation Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair automation and control systems on oil and gas production facilities. The role covers field equipment, PLC/RTU, SCADA, and instrumented systems to keep operations safe and efficient.

Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, calibrating devices, performing preventive maintenance, installing and starting new equipment, and interpreting drawings and schematics.

Qualifications

  • Experience in automation, instrumentation, I&E, or controls in oil and gas production.
  • Ability to troubleshoot PLCs, RTUs, SCADA and field instrumentation.
  • Read electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, P&IDs and control schematics.
  • Travel to field locations and work outdoors as needed.

  • Troubleshoot PLCs, RTUs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and field communication equipment.
  • Work with pressure, temperature, level, and flow instrumentation.
  • Diagnose electrical, instrumentation, and control-system issues.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on automation equipment.
  • Assist with new equipment installations, startups, commissioning, and upgrades.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, and control schematics.
  • Document repairs and troubleshooting findings; respond to field callouts as needed.

Overview

The Automation Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing automation and control systems supporting oil and gas production operations. This position works with field equipment, instrumentation, PLC/RTU systems, and SCADA communications to ensure production equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automation and control equipment on oil and gas production facilities.

  • Install, configure, calibrate, and test instrumentation and automation devices.

  • Troubleshoot PLCs, RTUs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and associated communication equipment.

  • Work with pressure, temperature, level, and flow instrumentation.

  • Troubleshoot control valves, transmitters, switches, sensors, and actuators.

  • Diagnose electrical, instrumentation, communication, and control-system issues.

  • Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on automation equipment.

  • Support automation associated with wells, tank batteries, separators, compressors, pumps, SWDs, and other production equipment.

  • Assist with new equipment installations, startups, commissioning, and system upgrades.

  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and control schematics.

  • Document repairs, maintenance activities, equipment changes, and troubleshooting findings.

  • Respond to field callouts and automation-related production issues as needed.

  • Follow all company safety procedures and applicable electrical and operational standards.

Qualifications
  • Previous automation, instrumentation, I&E, or controls experience within oil and gas production required.

  • Experience troubleshooting PLCs, RTUs, SCADA, and field instrumentation.

  • Working knowledge of electrical and electronic control systems.

  • Ability to troubleshoot automation issues independently in a field environment.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between field locations as required.

  • Ability to work outdoors and respond to callouts when necessary.

  • High School Diploma or GED equiavelent required.
  • Must meet conditional job offer requirements.
