Job summary

Net2Source (N2S) seeks an Automation Technical Specialist to drive sales within the Industrial Business Unit and support field Account Managers with technical expertise.

The role involves proposing and sizing automation products, producing technical drawings, and assisting with onsite startups and customer service calls.

Qualifications

• AS automation degree minimum required; BS in ME/IE/EE or equivalent preferred.
• 2+ years as Field Sales Engineer for automation systems; distributor experience preferred.
• Experience with design, manufacture and integration of automated equipment and motion control.
• Ability to develop cost-effective solutions for customers.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, AutoCAD; PLC programming and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Penetrate the market and achieve sales and gross margin goals in Automation product lines.

Position Description:

The Automation Technical Specialist will penetrate the market within the Industrial Business Unit and achieve established goals in terms of sales, gross margin generation, and specific company initiatives within the Automation product lines. Also, provides technical assistance to field Account Managers.

Essential Functions

• Strong understanding of Automation Controls & Software
• Assess customer needs and help develop Statements of Work
• Size and select products including VFD's, PLC's, Linear Actuators, and Control panels.
• Prepare customer proposals, make customer presentations and resulting quotations
• Support onsite customer startups
• Service customers via telephone
• Develop technical drawings
• PLC/Software
• Codesys Experience requested
• I/O Link Experience requested
• Manage products and supplier relationships
• Evaluate industry trends and new technology

Required Qualifications

• 2-year AS automation degree minimum, BS in ME/IE/EE or equivalent preferred
• 2+ years experience as a Field Sales Engineer for automation systems. Previous experience working for a distributor preferred.
• Specific knowledge and experience with design, manufacture and integration of automated manufacturing, material handling, assembly and test equipment and mechanical and electrical design concepts and motion control.
• Ability to develop creative cost-effective solutions to meet customers' needs.
• Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel and AutoCAD, PLC Programming and troubleshooting
