Job summary

Daifuku is seeking a maintenance technician to assist with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of automated material handling systems. The role involves diagnosing mechanical and basic electrical issues, reviewing technical drawings, and performing preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.

The ideal candidate has 3 years of relevant experience, strong toolbox skills, and is comfortable travelling internationally.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ experience in automotive technician, HVAC, elevator repair, electrician, building maintenance or equivalent machinery experience.
• 1–2 years working in material handling industry is preferred but not required.
• Experience with CMMS is a plus.

• Uses advanced troubleshooting to diagnose and repair mechanical problems.
• Diagnoses mechanical and basic electrical problems using technical drawings.
• Minimizes downtime by performing preventative and predictive maintenance.
• Conducts routine inspections of material handling equipment.
• Assists in troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment issues.
• Documents maintenance activities and repairs.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of work areas.
• Assists in inventory management and spare parts tracking.
• Follows OSHA and internal safety standards.
• Must possess a passport and be able to travel to Canada and Mexico.

Position Summary

Assists with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair of all Automated Material Handling systems. Previous material handling system experience is not required for this position.

• Uses advanced troubleshooting skills to diagnose and repair mechanical problems.

• 3 years’ experience working as an automotive technician, HVAC system, elevator repair, electrician, building maintenance or experience working with machinery or equivalent experience
• 1-2 years working in material handling industry preferred but not required
• Experience with CMMS platform a plus
• Working knowledge of handheld and power tools and how to use them
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and basic electrical defects
• Ability to interpret both mechanical drawings
• Self‑motivated, organized and detail-oriented
• Knowledge of safe industrial work practices
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Customer service orientation
• Ability to work in and contribute to a team setting
• Intermediate computer skills including MS Office
• Ability to follow maintenance manuals and procedures to repair equipment
• Ability to assist in the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of all material handling equipment and components is a plus
