Job summary

J&O Plastics is seeking an Automation Tech to setup, operate and troubleshoot automated and robotic equipment on the production floor. You will maintain tooling, teach robot positions, and report to the Manufacturing Engineer.

Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, adjusting robot programs, installing EOAT, and maintaining pneumatics/electrical systems. Forklift operation is also required in this role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or technical degree in robotics/automation or equivalent.
• Understanding of automation systems, robotics, tooling, controls and software.
• Robot programming experience, Fanuc preferred; able to diagnose and fix issues.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues on the production floor.
• Adjust robot programs for production needs.
• Install End of Arm Tooling on robotic cells.
• Perform equipment modifications with hand and power tools.
• Set up robot cells for specific jobs.
• Maintain pneumatic and electrical components on robot cells.
• Operate a forklift to move robot cells when required.

Job description

The Automation Tech will primarily be responsible for the Setup, Operation and Troubleshooting of Automated and Robotic Equipment on the Production floor. This will include upkeep of Robotic Equipment, End-of-Arm Tooling and Teaching Robot Positions. The Automation Tech reports to the Manufacturing Engineer.

RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

• Diagnose and Troubleshoot Equipment issues on the production floor
• Adjust Robot Programs
• Install End of Arm tooling
• Perform equipment modifications using hand and power tools
• Setup Robot Cells on a job specific basis
• Maintain pneumatic and electrical components on the Robot Cells
• Utilize a forklift to move a Robot Cell

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma (or equivalent), Technical degree (robotics, automation, electrical, maintenance) or equivalent
• experience
• Must have some understanding of automation systems: mechanical equipment, tooling, robotics, controls, software, etc.
• Robot Programming experience –Fanuc preferred
• Understanding of pneumatic and electrical circuits and components
• Ability to use hand tools to adjust equipment
• Ability to diagnose and fix issues with equipment
• Must be able to work safely in a production environment; must be physically capable of performing job related tasks and
• jobduties
• Good organizational skills – must have ability to determine priorities, manage time properly, and multi-task. stand, stoop, and lift objects up to 50lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Humidity level may be elevated during summer months.
