Job summary

Crosby Energy Services, Inc. is seeking an Automation Technician in the Pecos, TX area to support design, installation, and maintenance of automation systems across wells and facilities.

You will monitor SCADA, troubleshoot controls, and coordinate with contractors for VRU, combustor, and flare system maintenance, while reading technical docs and schematics to keep operations efficient and compliant.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Oil and Gas.
• Experience with PLCs and automation equipment including SCADA/HMI systems.
• Ability to read technical docs and electrical/pneumatic schematics.

Responsibilities

• Assist design, implementation, and maintenance of automation systems in company facilities and wells.
• Monitor and troubleshoot SCADA systems and controls.
• Coordinate with contractors for maintenance of VRUs, combustors and flare systems.
• Troubleshoot and maintain emissions control systems; assist in new system installations.

Now Hiring Automation Tech - Pecos, TX Area

• As an Automation Technician, you will assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of automation systems in company operated facilities and wells.
• Monitor and troubleshoot SCADA systems and controls.
• Coordinate with contractors for the maintenance of VRU’s, combustors and flare systems.
• Familiar with various Burner managements systems a plus.
• Troubleshoot and maintain existing emissions control systems, while also overseeing the installation and implementation of new emissions control systems.
• Maintains good working relationships with various groups including production, water groups, and facilities engineering.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on control systems to ensure reliable and efficient operations.
• Perform the installation and configuration of control systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), remote terminal unit (RTU), and human-machine interfaces (HMIs).
• Assist in the testing and commissioning of new control systems. Read and interpret technical documentation including electrical and pneumatic schematics, control narratives and loop drawings.
• Ensure collaboration with other automation team members and cross-function teams to resolve technical issues.
• Be willing to continually improve professional development including non-technical subjects such as, but not limited to, business communications, problem solving, corporate culture.

Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience in Oil and Gas
• High School Diploma required.
• Must have experience with ROCLink, IDEC, ABB, SCADAPak, or other PLC’s and SignalFire wireless.
• HMI experience required.
• Field communications experience with Cambium, Cradle Point and advanced skill in TCP/IP and MODBUS communications.
• Must be highly organized and able to self-direct, multi-task and prioritize based on dynamic work environment requirements.
• Strong application skills in Excel and Word required.
• Elevated level of communication skills in both written and spoken format.
