Job summary

Traditional Medicinals, Inc. seeks an Automation Systems Technician to operate and maintain automated machinery in our Rocky Mount facility. The role supports continuous improvement and requires collaboration with maintenance teams to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor automated machinery to ensure efficient production.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on automation systems.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems and coordinate repairs with maintenance teams.
  • Maintain records of equipment performance, maintenance tasks, and repairs.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and engineering to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Replenish materials used by automation equipment to prevent downtime.
  • Provide training and support to team members on equipment use.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Utilize CMMS, Quality software, ERP and other programs to optimize production.
  • Maintain compliance with GMP regulations and internal standards.

Job description

The Automation Systems Technician will be responsible for operating and maintaining automated machinery and equipment within our manufacturing facility. They will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of automation systems, as well as promptly addressing any technical issues that may arise. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with maintenance teams and other staff to optimize automation processes, minimize downtime, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor automated machinery and equipment to ensure efficient production processes.

  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on automation systems to prevent unexpected breakdowns and delays.

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose technical problems with automation equipment, taking prompt action to resolve issues or coordinate repairs with maintenance teams.

  • Maintain accurate records of equipment performance, maintenance tasks, and any required repairs.

  • Collaborate with supervisors and engineering teams to identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements.

  • Replenish materials and supplies used by the automation equipment to support uninterrupted production operations.

  • Provide training and support to other team members on the proper use and handling of automation equipment.

  • Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards to maintain a safe work environment. Participate in safety teams.

  • Utilize the CMMS, Quality software, ERP and other programs or software to optimize production.

  • Maintain compliance with all applicable GMP regulations, guidelines, and internal quality standards.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training is a plus.

  • At least 1 year of proven experience in operating and maintaining automated machinery and systems.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills to address technical issues effectively.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and safety.

  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Travel
  • Extensive travel to the corporate office in California will be required in the first few months for training purposes

  • This position is based in Rocky Mount, VA and is onsite Monday through Friday supporting a three-shift operation.

  • Remote candidates will not be considered for this role.

Compensation
  • Starting at $31.00 an hour

  • Shift Differential provided

  • No Relocation Assistance Provided
