Job summary

Interstates is seeking a hands-on Control Systems Developer I to design, program, and launch automation solutions for diverse manufacturing clients. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver impactful projects and support clients’ operations daily.

The role emphasizes PLC programming, HMI development, documentation, and on-site implementation at multiple sites across the region. A strong engineering background and customer-facing experience are valued for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree with emphasis in Engineering or Instrumentation preferred.
• Experience in programming in industrial environments and startup of industrial control software; customer interaction.
• Experience with object oriented programming, UI development, database systems and system integration.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and implement PLC code for industrial automation systems.
• Design and configure HMI applications for process control and monitoring.
• Create thorough project documentation including system descriptions, manuals, and change logs.
• Collaborate with clients, electrical engineers, control programmers, and information system specialists to deliver integrated solutions.
• On-site commissioning and launch of control systems; provide troubleshooting and operator training.
• Build relationships with clients by communicating professionally and exceeding expectations.
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends and technologies to drive continuous improvement.
• Flex and grow with the team, tackling new challenges.
