Job summary

Interstates is seeking a Control Systems Developer I to design, program, and launch automation solutions for manufacturing clients. You’ll work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver projects that elevate client operations and integrate control systems across sites.

The role emphasizes hands-on development, on-site commissioning, and strong collaboration with electrical engineers and IT staff to ensure reliable, scalable solutions. A degree in engineering or instrumentation is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or associate degree in engineering or instrumentation/controls is preferred.
• Experience programming in industrial environments and startup of industrial control software.
• Experience with object oriented programming, UI development, databases, and system integration.

Responsibilities

• PLC Programming: Develop, test, and implement PLC code for industrial automation systems.
• HMI Development: Design and configure HMI applications for process control and monitoring.
• Project Documentation: Create thorough and accurate project documentation, including system descriptions and change logs.
• Team Collaboration: Work with clients, engineers, programmers, and IT staff on integrated solutions.
• On-Site Implementation: Commission and launch control systems on-site; provide troubleshooting and training.
• Client Interaction: Build relationships by communicating professionally and anticipating needs.
• Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date on industry trends and technologies.
• Other Duties as Assigned: Adapt and grow with the team.
