Job Description Summary
The Automation Sub-Section Manager will work in close partnership with engineering teams to identify opportunities for automation within the design process. This team will collaborate extensively with Digital Technology (DT) and engineering teams to develop scripts and code that streamline and automate processes. As the Director of a software engineering group, you will leverage your expertise in management, software development methodologies, industry best practices, and established processes to guide teams in delivering high-quality software products on time, within budget, and with exceptional quality.

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Partner with engineering design teams to identify automation opportunities and streamline processes.
  • Collaborate with AI and analytics teams to identify areas for joint innovation and development.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team to consistently deliver projects of varying size and complexity focused around automation.
  • Develop and execute a strategic vision for the organization, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Present leadership updates to GE executive sponsors and customers, showcasing progress and outcomes.
  • Work with stakeholders to define future technology platforms, architectures, and product strategies.
  • Quickly internalize key priorities and develop a strong understanding of organizational and client needs.
  • Ensure data and process changes in systems are implemented in line with project objectives and timelines.
  • Provide day-to-day work direction for team members engaged in projects and delivery.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement, driving innovation and productivity.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in engineering
  • Due to the nature of the duties of this position, this role requires the individual to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. GE will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this role.

  • Previous experience as a people leader or team leader, with a proven ability to mentor and develop others.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems collaboratively as part of a larger team.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to independently organize and prioritize efforts for self and team members.
  • Active U.S. Government Security Clearance at the Secret level.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
