Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Automation Specialist for a remote-first engineering team. You will design, implement, and maintain automated systems within manufacturing to boost productivity, reduce human error, and enhance efficiency from your home office.

You will work with PLCs, robotics, sensors, and SCADA/HMI, staying current with new automation technologies and best practices while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Eng, CS, or related field.
  • Experience in industrial automation, PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley), and robotics.
  • Strong understanding of control systems, sensors, and actuators.
  • Experience with HMI/SCADA systems and data acquisition.
  • Excellent remote communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage projects effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop automated systems and controls for manufacturing processes.
  • Program and configure PLCs, robotics, and other automation hardware and software.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with automated systems to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify opportunities for automation.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for automation systems, including schematics and operating manuals.
  • Stay current with emerging automation technologies and best practices.
