Job summary

Occidental Petroleum Corporation seeks an Automation Specialist for the US Onshore Resources & Carbon Management unit in Denver City, TX. You will install, test and calibrate automation equipment, perform loop checks, and support commissioning on-site during start-up, ensuring safety and process standards are met.

You will troubleshoot instrumentation and controls, coordinate with project managers, and provide technical guidance on RTU designs, PLCs and HMIs, while traveling to assigned sites as

Qualifications

• Two-year Automation or Instrumentation degree or equivalent technical experience.
• 3+ years oil field experience with instrumentation and automation.
• Knowledge of RTU designs, programming and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with API/NEC/IEEE/ISA standards is a plus.
• PLC maintenance, HMI/SCADA, and control narratives experience.

Responsibilities

• Install, function test and calibrate automation equipment per design specs.
• Perform point-to-point and loop checks on devices in facilities.
• Coordinate commissioning oversight with Project Manager and track status.
• Provide on-site automation support during facility start-up.
• Serve as technical resource for controls systems and instrumentation.
• Ensure compliance with Process Control standards and MOC processes.
