Job summary

HireOn Tech seeks a hands-on Automation Engineer to design and implement converting automation solutions from concept to commissioning. The role involves close collaboration with project managers, fabrication teams and customer sites across the US, Europe and India for conveyors, sensors and robotics systems.

You will drive safety-compliant designs, track scope and schedules, and provide post-deployment support with a focus on continuous improvement and lean practices.

Qualifications

• Experience designing automation solutions from concept to commissioning.
• Hands-on deployment of converting and packaging line automation.
• Familiarity with robotics, vision systems and AMR/COBOT technologies.
• Understanding of lean manufacturing, value stream mapping and CI.
• Ability to interpret simulation inputs and drive design decisions.
• Knowledge of plant IT and enterprise systems integration (e.g., SAP).
• Proven ability to manage scope, cost and schedules on projects.

Responsibilities

• Design automation solutions from concept through commissioning.
• Collaborate with managers, fabrication teams and plant staff.
• Ensure safety requirements meet customer and regulatory standards.
• Define scope, cost estimates and schedules; manage projects.
• Coordinate with OEM suppliers in US, Europe & India for automation systems.
• Track project status and support installation/commissioning.
• Provide post deployment tech support and proactive improvements.
