Job summary

Excelsior Sciences in New York City is seeking a software engineer with deep experience in laboratory automation to join the Automation team. You will bridge the gap between physical lab devices and digital data platforms, building reliable, scalable software for automated workflows.

You will also own Lab IT support, overseeing computers, security, remote access, and backup infrastructure, ensuring operations are secure, visible, and ready for scientific work.

Qualifications

• Experience designing automation software for lab devices and digital lab-data interfaces.
• Solid understanding of integrated automation systems and control software.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with scientists, automation engineers, and data teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain software automation suites that control lab devices and workcells.
• Own Lab IT support services including lab computers, endpoint security, remote access, and backups.
• Collaborate with Research Informatics and Frontier AI to integrate software with data platforms.
