Job summary

Ginkgo Bioworks, Inc. is seeking an Automation Scientist Intern to support the RAC Operations team in Boston, MA. You will learn to operate and maintain a modular robotic lab system, queue and run protocols, and analyze results to improve autonomous workflows.

The role emphasizes hands-on learning in biology workflows, software-controlled experiments, and preparing reagents for sequencing and molecular biology tasks. In-person attendance is required at our Boston location.

Qualifications

• Recent graduate (BS/MS) or expected 2026 or H1 2027 graduation in Computer Science, Bioengineering, Computational Biology, or Bioinformatics.

Responsibilities

• Master the RAC Platform and operate a system of Reconfigurable Automation Carts.
• Prepare and onboard reagents for molecular biology workflows and analyze protocol run data.
• Learn to design and optimize workflows for autonomous lab operation.
