Job summary

Western Water seeks an experienced Operations Field Supervisor – Automation & Electrical Services to lead day-to-day field operations and supervise staff responsible for SCADA systems, PLC programming, radio telemetry, and automation networks supporting water and wastewater facilities.

Under the Operations Field Manager, you will plan, coordinate, and inspect work, develop schedules, KPIs, and budgets while ensuring reliability and security of critical control infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to Associate's degree in public administration, business administration, engineering, electronics technology, automation, control systems or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree may substitute for one year of experience.
• Minimum 10 years of equivalent training and experience in a related field may be substituted.
• Minimum 6 years in the operation and maintenance of a large, complex water distribution and treatment facility and wastewater collection and treatment systems.
• Including 3 years in a lead or supervisory capacity.

Responsibilities

• Lead Automation Field Operations overseeing SCADA, PLC programming, radio telemetry, process automation, and information networks.
• Inspect, operate, calibrate, and maintain equipment linked to department functions.
• Develop schedules and methods to complete work timely and efficiently; track KPIs.
• Develop and maintain SOPs; support budgeting and procurement.
• Maintain and improve automation systems including cybersecurity practices for industrial control environments.
• Mentor junior staff and coordinate with project managers, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
