Job summary

The Phoenix Group is seeking a hands-on Platform Engineer to help build out a robust testing ecosystem for development systems and push automation across environments. You will partner with developers, architects, and other infrastructure teams to streamline CI/CD, maintain system health, and implement security-conscious operations.

Responsibilities include designing automated tests (load and regression), driving deployment reliability, and documenting standards and repeatable processes.

Qualifications

• Familiar with Linux administration and broader infra/DevOps experience.
• Designing, standardizing, or migrating systems and processes rather than following runbooks.
• Exposure to web apps and collaboration with live-app teams.
• Experience building or contributing to automated testing (load testing, regression detection, CI/CD integration).
• Comfortable across infrastructure, cloud, and application-adjacent responsibilities.
• Strong communicator who can work with both infra and development teams.
• Ability to reason through unfamiliar or ambiguous issues instead of defaulting to templates.

• Help build out a testing ecosystem for development systems, including automated testing for errors and performance under load.
• Bring a quality mindset to changes and deployments — anticipate potential failures rather than react to them.
• Build and maintain automation to reduce manual work and improve consistency across environments.
• Contribute to CI/CD and deployment workflows; help streamline safe shipping of changes.
• Monitor system health and address issues before they become incidents.
• Collaborate directly with developers and other infrastructure teams; document standards and repeatable processes.
