Job summary

Empower is seeking a test automation engineer in the United States to design and maintain automated test scripts and execute test cases. You will collaborate with the software engineering team to understand application functionality and testing needs, and report defects with clear documentation.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in testing with 2–3 years in automation, strong Python skills, SQL knowledge, and experience with tools like JUnit, TestNG, Karate, and Git.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years testing experience with 2-3 years automation testing experience or equivalent automation training
• Proficiency in Python programming language
• Strong understanding of requirement analysis
• Experience with automation testing tools and debugging skills
• Experience with version control systems like Git
• Knowledge of BDD frameworks
• Hands-on SQL and database testing
• Experience with JIRA or similar management tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Communication and teamwork skills
• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT preferred
• Willingness to learn new tech and methodologies

Responsibilities

• Design and develop moderately complex automated test scripts
• Execute moderately complex automated test cases and report results
• Identify, document and track defects using defect tracking tools
• Provide clear documentation for test cases, results, and defects
• Collaborate with software engineering to understand functionality and testing requirements
• Maintain and update existing automated test scripts
• Follow and recommend automation best practices
• Provide guidance to associate automation quality engineers
• May perform manual testing when needed
