Project Manager - Automated Storage and Retrieval System Implementation
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead the implementation and installation of an Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) at our Decatur, Illinois facility. This role involves overseeing a high-visibility, large-scale project from June 2025 to January 2027, which encompasses significant civil construction, equipment installation, and inventory management. The Project Manager will lead the Project Management Office (PMO), coordinate multidisciplinary teams including internal facilities, IT, supply chain, inventory, and external vendors, and ensure alignment of timelines for successful project completion. A dynamic leadership approach is required to adapt to evolving project needs and maintain harmony across all stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Manage Project Management Office (PMO) operations, including a project portfolio and high-level project plan, and conduct weekly PMO meetings with stakeholders.
- Track action items, update timelines, provide concise reports to the Project Lead, and drive execution beyond reporting.
- Dynamically adjust schedules to accommodate project delays or accelerations.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to align timelines and prevent constraints related to inventory relocation, civil construction, and installations.
- Facilitate collaboration among technical leads to resolve misalignments and synchronize project activities.
- Anticipate and mitigate risks by connecting critical dependencies.
- Oversee inventory relocation and develop project plans to track progress.
- Monitor equipment commissioning and installation, ensuring alignment with project milestones.
- Coordinate inventory reintegration post-installation to make the ASRS operational by January 2027.
- Provide leadership to foster teamwork and drive execution without requiring technical expertise.
- Engage onsite with teams to understand progress, identify issues, and maintain project momentum.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in project management software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, or equivalent tools.
- Strong PMO management skills, including timeline tracking, milestone delivery, and action item coordination.
- Exceptional collaboration and communication skills to manage diverse teams.
- Strong leadership skills to drive execution, resolve conflicts, and maintain alignment.
- Ability to dynamically adapt to changing project needs and connect critical dependencies.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge of logistics automation deployment and familiarity with civil construction or large-scale equipment deployment.
- Proven experience managing large-scale projects, preferably in manufacturing, logistics, or automation deployment.
- Experience in PMO operations and cross-functional coordination.
- Logistics automation experience is an advantage.
- Degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills to anticipate and mitigate risks across multidisciplinary operations.
Work Environment
The role is based at the Decatur, Illinois facility and requires onsite work. The project involves collaboration across various teams and stakeholders, utilizing project management software and tools to ensure successful execution
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
