Job summary

First Quality is seeking a Manufacturing Automation Programmer to design, program, troubleshoot, and maintain automated control systems across production lines at our facility. You will collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to optimize equipment performance and reduce downtime.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of PLC programming experience with major brands, strong HMI/SCADA skills, and familiarity with robotics and industrial networks.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Controls, Mechatronics, or related field.
• 2+ years of PLC programming experience with major brands.
• Experience developing HMI/SCADA software and SCADA integration.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot control system faults, sensors, drives, and networking to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with maintenance and production on automation improvements.
• Program and optimize PLCs for production, process, and packaging equipment.
• Design, configure, and improve HMI screens for operator control and monitoring.
• Maintain and support robotics systems integrated into lines.
• Assist installation, commissioning, and startup of new equipment.
• Document control logic, wiring diagrams, and program revisions.
• Perform backups and version control of PLC, HMI, and robot programs.
• Ensure automation systems meet safety standards and quality requirements.
• Provide training and technical support to maintenance technicians and operators.
• Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Stay current with emerging automation technologies and recommend upgrades.
