Job summary

Shaw Industries is seeking a hands-on Process Engineer to lead plant-wide process improvements on one of its advanced vinyl flooring production lines. The role focuses on troubleshooting, data-driven optimization, automation initiatives, and cost-saving projects with exposure to plant and corporate leadership.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong engineering background, manufacturing experience, and excellent communication skills to drive reliability and efficiency on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Experience in manufacturing, process engineering, automation, or continuous improvement.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives plant-wide.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing, quality, and process-related issues using root cause analysis.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and increase reliability.
• Support automation, robotics, CNC programming, and equipment upgrade projects.
• Manage capital and expense projects from concept through implementation.
• Partner with Operations, Maintenance, R&D, and Corporate Engineering to evaluate new technologies and process enhancements.
• Analyze production and financial data to drive performance improvements and cost savings.
• Develop work instructions, training materials, and standardized processes.
• Present results and recommendations to plant and corporate leadership.
