Job summary

Shaw Industries Group, Inc. seeks an Automation Engineer to support and oversee local process control solutions as part of broader process engineering duties.

You will contribute to automation initiatives by using data to identify improvements and collaborating with automation teams. Responsibilities include maintaining documentation, mentoring plant staff, and driving energy-saving and reliability initiatives while aligning with corporate standards.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in design, installation and troubleshooting of PLCs and HMI/SCADA (Ignition preferred).
• Experience with Ignition or similar SCADA software is preferred.
• Strong experience with industrial PC hardware and software.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support process control projects focusing on Ignition SCADA, PLCs, and HMI integration.
• Design and implement capital and continuous improvement projects incl. electrical power and mechanical systems.
• Bridge manufacturing ops and process control tech; use data to drive improvements.
• Maintain documentation: drawings, source code, procedures, spare parts, lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with Shaw Automation Engineers and CIM teams to expand local capability.
• Mentor plant personnel and provide engineering support to maintenance and operations.
• Contribute to energy-saving initiatives and plant utility improvements.
• Support plant safety, reliability, and maintenance leadership.
