Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. is offering a Process Control Engineering Internship in Ishpeming, MI. The role involves software development across languages and hardware platforms, maintaining and diagnosing automation systems, and coordinating with production teams to improve reliability and efficiency.

Interns will work on process modeling for mill operations and collaborate with R&D and other departments to implement system improvements and adapt to new products and processes.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in Bachelor of Science program in the field of Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related technical degree.
• Completion of sophomore year of study by the summer of 2027.

Responsibilities

• Software development in a variety of programming languages and on a variety of hardware platforms.
• Maintenance of computer hardware and software.
• Maintenance and problem solving of all aspects of the automation system.
• Modifications to the automation system to adapt to new products and processes.
• Address issues that may impact production or system reliability.
• Process modeling for mill processes of a chemical, metallurgical and mechanical nature.
• Administration of operating systems and relational databases on workstations and servers.
• Work with complex measurement systems (vision systems, thermal imaging, RFID/barcode, X-ray, gauges).
• Coordinate with production, research and development, and other staff departments.
