Job summary

Id-Logistics in West Jefferson, OH is seeking an Operations and Controls Engineer to support, improve, and expand automation and OT systems across a packaging facility and warehouse. Hands-on PLC programming is an absolute requirement, with responsibilities including troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment, diagnosing controls failures, modifying PLC logic, and assisting Maintenance with repairs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
Hands-on PLC programming experience required.
Proven ability to diagnose and repair automated industrial equipment.
Working knowledge of HMIs, VFDs, sensors, and industrial networking.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to collaborate with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and IT teams.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support for troubleshooting and repair of automated packaging and material handling equipment.
Diagnose PLC, HMI, sensor, and drive-related failures; modify PLC programs as needed.
Support downtime investigations and identify root causes of recurring issues.
Troubleshoot industrial networks and PLC communication with higher-level systems.
Assist in commissioning and startup of new packaging and warehouse automation equipment.
Maintain backups and documentation for control systems and interfaces.
