Job summary

Omnicell is seeking an Automation Pharmacy Technician 4 (IV Compounding) in Bristol, TN to support daily dispensing from the Omnicell IV equipment. You will maintain equipment, perform advanced troubleshooting and manage inventories while addressing customer concerns under the Pharmacy Services Manager.

You must hold an active TN pharmacy technician license, PTCB/NHA-CPhT or EXCPT, and have sterile IV compounding experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Active National Pharmacy Technician Certificate (PTCB/NHA-CPhT or EXCPT) is required.
• Active TN State Board of Pharmacy Technician license/registration is required.
• Sterile IV compounding and cleanroom experience is expected.
• COVID-19 vaccination is required.

Responsibilities

Automation Pharmacy Technician 4 (IV Compounding)

The Automation Pharmacy Technician 4 (IV Compounding) will be responsible for maintaining all unit-dose medications required for daily dispensing from the Omnicell automated IV equipment. The Automation Pharmacy Technician 4 will prepare and maintain the Omnicell IV automated equipment for daily use, perform advanced equipment troubleshooting, maintain optimal medication inventory levels, review / maintain reports. Automation Pharmacy Technician IV will engage with various levels of customer service by identifying and addressing any customer concerns and report to the Pharmacy Services Manager.

Responsibilities

• Perform IV automation tasks in an aseptic, error free manner, consistent with prescribed guidelines.
• Perform IV automation equipment cleaning and maintenance.
• Follow Safe Handling of Hazardous Drugs procedures when handling medications.
• Responsible for identifying/ordering medications to ensure medication inventories are at optimal levels.
• Responsible for monitoring and ordering consumable supplies required for the operation of the equipment.
• Responsible for performing advanced troubleshooting and prescribed maintenance of IV automation equipment and reporting unresolved equipment issues to the IV HD.
• Maintain a high level of communication with pharmacy services manager and customer, to ensure proactive, solution-oriented problem identification and resolution.
• Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by aligning the Pharmacy Services Program to provide customer-focused support emphasizing quality, professionalism and responsiveness, by acting as liaison between OMCL and customer to assist with customer concerns.
• Comply with IV Compounding procedures, policies and guidelines established by the Customer facility.
• Complete negative fingertip and media fill sampling.
• Maintain state and/or national credentialing to meet established guidelines.

Basic Qualifications

Work Conditions

• Location: Must be able to commute to work at this site at 1 Medical Park Blvd., Bristol, TN 37620.
• Shift(s): TBD. (M-Th 4-10 hr. shifts. Possible working hours 6am-1am. 3 staggered shifts possible start times 6am, 8am, 12pm.)
• Hospital Pharmacy Environment.
• Capable of standing for several hours at a time.
• Potential exposure to hazardous drugs.
• Must be able to travel out of state for training
• Able to lift 25-30 lbs.

Base compensation: For the State of TN, the hourly rate is $25+/ per hour range.
