Job summary

Sharp Packaging Services in Macungie, PA seeks a Mechanic to support setup, maintenance, and operation of high-speed packaging equipment. Strong troubleshooting skills are required to assist in the maintenance and operation of automated packaging equipment while adhering to cGMP and EHS standards.

This role requires close collaboration with Operations and Quality, and will involve training Machine Operators and new mechanic hires as part of a team-driven production environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; 4 years of industrial automation/packaging experience.
• Strong desire to learn new systems and expand knowledge base.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair machine breakdowns with maintenance and engineering staff.
• Operates packaging equipment to support daily operations.
• Train and develop Machine Operators and new mechanic hires.
• Log data into process check sheets.
• Troubleshoot sensors, setup and adjustment of online printing, barcode scanning, and OCR/OCV vision equipment.
• Verify the calibration status of measuring gauges including Temperature Controllers and related Thermocouples, Air and Vacuum gauges, and Timers.
• Perform preventative and on-demand maintenance activities and document all activities per Sharp procedures.
• Correspond with team members daily and attend meetings when required.
• Perform preventative maintenance work orders and log completion into Blue Mountain.
• Hours will vary based on business needs.
• Set up various automated packaging equipment systems including removal of previous tooling, removal and replacement of covers and guarding for access of cleaning crew.
