Job summary

Cognify Global is seeking a Solutions Manager to provide leadership and accountability for the Solutions Group, overseeing automation and systems projects from concept and design through implementation, commissioning, and final customer acceptance.

Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the Solutions engineering team; assign projects and responsibilities, conduct regular project reviews, provide technical guidance, and promote accountability and continuous improvement.
• Sales & Proposal Support: Partner with Sales to evaluate customer requirements, develop technical solutions, define scopes of work, review proposals, and prepare accurate BOMs, labor estimates, schedules, and project pricing.
• Project Management: Assign lead engineers, oversee active projects, track schedules and deliverables, coordinate purchasing and project resources, and provide regular status updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Automation & System Design: Provide technical oversight across multidisciplinary automation projects involving mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, controls, and software systems. Support feasibility studies, system architecture, prototyping, and design reviews.
• Hands-On Technical Leadership: Maintain strong electro-mechanical knowledge and the ability to support control panel wiring, mechanical assembly, troubleshooting, commissioning, and implementation when required.
• Customer Management: Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensure consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle, and deliver a high level of technical and customer support.
• Technology & Vendor Expertise: Maintain working knowledge of relevant company systems and automation technologies, including Siemens, Cognex, SICK, and Universal Robots (UR), as well as Applied Controls\' primary product lines.
• Training & Development: Maintain required technical certifications, support customer and internal training, and develop team knowledge of Applied Controls systems, products, and hardware.

This position is responsible for developing and mentoring the engineering team, maintaining high technical standards, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.

The Solutions Manager will work closely with Sales to develop project scopes, schedules, cost estimates, BOMs, and competitive proposals while providing technical expertise throughout the sales process. The role is also responsible for supporting the continued growth, profitability, and expansion of the Solutions business.
