Job summary

Freudenberg Group in Aurora, IL seeks a skilled maintenance technician to diagnose and repair automated systems, robotic arms, PLCs, and conveyors, and to perform preventive maintenance.

You will work with engineers and technicians, read schematics and manuals, and help minimize downtime through rapid diagnostics and parts stocking, ensuring safe, efficient operation of manufacturing lines.

Qualifications

• 2nd shift availability required
• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent; Associate degree preferred
• Background in electronics, mechanics, pneumatics, and automation systems (mechatronics)
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving to diagnose and fix malfunctions
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting and repair
• Experience with preventive maintenance to reduce downtime
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, blueprints, and schematics
• Strong communication to coordinate with engineers and technicians
• Ability to lift objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance to maximize system uptime and efficiency.
• Work with industrial robotic assembly devices, cobots, AGV / AMR, vision systems, electrical systems, and manufacturing automation systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Identify potential system failures and ensure critical components are stocked for quick repairs.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in automation technology and suggest process improvements.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to ensure smooth operation of all automated systems.

Qualifications

• Ability to work 2nd shift.
• High School diploma / GED equivalent required; associate's degree preferred.
• Technical expertise in electronics, mechanics, pneumatics, and automation systems (mechatronic background). This role requires someone with strong automation experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to quickly diagnose and resolve system malfunctions.
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting and repair.
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with engineers, technicians, and other team members.
• Lift objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights.
