Job summary

BD in Utah is seeking a maintenance technician to inspect, diagnose, and repair production equipment on-site at our Sandy facility. You will dismantle machinery, replace parts, perform preventive maintenance, and keep detailed maintenance records to minimize downtime.

Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and strong problem-solving abilities. The role requires hands-on electrical/mechanical work with PLCs and vision systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance experience on industrial equipment is required.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Examine inoperative production equipment and diagnose issues.
• Disassemble, repair, reassemble, and adjust machinery for optimal performance.
• Coordinate replacement items with the Machine Shop.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems on production equipment.
• Create simple replacement parts for emergency repairs to reduce downtime.
• Perform preventative maintenance and maintain records.
• Provide maintenance leadership as needed.
• Support production lines and collaborate with teams.
• Mentor junior maintenance personnel.
• Resolve equipment breakdowns solo or in teams.
• Complete root cause analyses and proactive maintenance reports.
• Handle other duties as assigned.

Job Description

Responsibilities

1. Examine inoperative or malfunctioning production equipment and machinery in assigned areas and diagnose source of trouble (mechanical or electrical).

2. Dismantle machinery and perform routine and non-routine repairs. Replace broken or defective parts, reassemble machines and adjust equipment for optimal performance.

3. Coordinate the manufacture of replacement items with the Machine Shop.

4. Troubleshoot and correct electrical problems of production equipment.

5. May be required to make simple replacement parts for emergency repair of inoperative production equipment to avoid costly downtime.

6. Perform preventative maintenance task as needed to maintain production equipment. Complete all required maintenance records.

7. Provide PM and maintenance team leadership as required.

8. Provide support to assigned production lines and be willing to help where needed.

9. Mentoring junior maintenance personnel and support of the production team as required.

10. Must be able to correct equipment breakdowns alone or in a group environment.

11. Complete root cause analysis reports when needed.

12. Complete proactive maintenance activities, record and report results.

13. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirement:

• High School Diploma or GED
