Job summary

Becton, Dickinson, and Company in Sandy, UT is seeking a Maintenance Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain production equipment on-site. The role requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, mentoring, and leadership in PM activities.

You will support multiple production lines, perform routine and non-routine repairs, and coordinate with the machine shop. This position emphasizes hands-on problem solving in a fast-paced healthcare manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Requires High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience with factory maintenance and preventive maintenance.
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and perform repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Examine inoperative or malfunctioning production equipment and diagnose source of trouble (mechanical or electrical).
  • Dismantle machinery and perform routine and non-routine repairs; replace broken parts and reassemble for optimal performance.
  • Coordinate manufacture of replacement items with Machine Shop.
  • Troubleshoot and correct electrical problems of production equipment.
  • Make simple replacement parts for emergency repair to avoid downtime.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and complete required maintenance records.
  • Provide PM and maintenance team leadership as required.
  • Support assigned production lines and assist where needed.
  • Mentor junior maintenance personnel and support production team.
  • Correct equipment breakdowns alone or in a group environment.
  • Complete root cause analysis reports when needed and proactive maintenance results.

Job Description

Responsibilities

1. Examine inoperative or malfunctioning production equipment and machinery in assigned areas and diagnose source of trouble (mechanical or electrical).

2. Dismantle machinery and perform routine and non-routine repairs. Replace broken or defective parts, reassemble machines and adjust equipment for optimal performance.

3. Coordinate the manufacture of replacement items with the Machine Shop.

4. Troubleshoot and correct electrical problems of production equipment.

5. May be required to make simple replacement parts for emergency repair of inoperative production equipment to avoid costly downtime.

6. Perform preventative maintenance task as needed to maintain production equipment. Complete all required maintenance records.

7. Provide PM and maintenance team leadership as required.

8. Provide support to assigned production lines and be willing to help where needed.

9. Mentoring junior maintenance personnel and support of the production team as required.

10. Must be able to correct equipment breakdowns alone or in a group environment.

11. Complete root cause analysis reports when needed.

12. Complete proactive maintenance activities, record and report results.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirement:

  • High School Diploma or GED
