Job summary

Boccard Life Sciences, an industrial integrator, designs and installs process solutions for the Food & Ingredients, Pharmaceutical, Cosmetics, and Brewing industries. The Automation Lead is responsible for manufacturing automation and controls design, programming, simulation, testing, and start-up assistance, acting as the project go-to person for automation needs on site.

Minimum Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years in Controls/Automation, PLC/HMI programming, and field commissioning is required,

Job description

Boccard Life Sciences, industrial integrator located in 35 countries, designs, manufactures, assembles, and installs process solutions for its customers worldwide in the Food & Ingredients, Pharmaceutical, Cosmetics, and Brewing Industries.

Under limited supervision, the Automation Lead is responsible for the manufacturing automation and controls systems design, specification, documentation, programming, simulation, testing, and start-up assistance. The incumbent will be the point person on their projects for all automation needs.

Position Functions

• Assign specific tasks to automation engineers for project execution
• Provide guidance to customer during project meeting
• Work as part of a larger multi-disciplined project team
• Create the I/O List from Equipment List and P&IDs
• Develop the Functional Analysis based on a Functional Description from a Mechanical Process Engineer
• Develop the PLC and HMI programs based on Functional Analysis
• Lead commissioning Team for equipment startup on site
• Conduct Factory Acceptance Test, Site Acceptance Test, and Commissioning. Produce related technical documentation for their respective protocols
• Compile and author the Operator Installation Manual and technical equipment files
• Provide operator and maintenance technician training
• Provide feedback on the project for overall process improvement
• Communicate with stakeholders about his/her project team

Requirements & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Controls and/or Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
