Job summary

ABB is looking for a student intern in engineering, computer science, or a related field in the United States. You will gain practical experience by supporting ABB’s operations, performing tasks, and contributing to automation projects onsite or hybrid in Chicago, IL, or Alpharetta, GA.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, assist in development and testing of automation software, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, documentation, and product demonstrations while learning

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, CS, or related field in the U.S.
• Must have reliable transportation to/from the worksite.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
• Ability to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills to meet deadlines.
• Capacity to manage multiple tasks while maintaining quality.
• Ability to collaborate with teammates and share progress updates.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teams to support ABB’s operations and ensure timely project completion.
• Identify solutions for clients based on customer needs and ABB offerings.
• Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions.
• Seek feedback from managers and teammates to improve performance.
• Assist in development and testing of automation software.
• Assist in installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of automation systems.
• Assist with creation of technical sales demonstrations.
• Support documentation and user manuals for automation systems.
• Participate in project meetings and provide progress updates.
• Participate in inventories and manage department equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
