Job summary
Sterling Engineering in Tremonton, UT is seeking an Automation Engineer to support robotic applications and plant automation. You will develop and improve machine control code, implement new equipment, troubleshoot control issues, and lead automation projects that improve safety, quality, productivity, reliability, and cost performance.
The role requires hands-on PLC programming (ladder logic), robotics setup and integration, and cross-functional collaboration with production and maintenance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering or related field required.
- Experience with robotic setup, programming, applications, and manipulation.
- PLC programming experience with ladder logic; Allen-Bradley/GE preferred.
- Experience with industrial control networks (Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet).
- Familiarity with manufacturing systems, electrical controls, and processing environments.
Responsibilities
- Develop, modify, and troubleshoot machine control code for automated equipment.
- Support daily robotic applications, including robot setup and programming.
- Participate in automation projects from concept through implementation and handoff.
- Lead automation and process-improvement initiatives to improve quality, productivity, and cost performance.
- Create and update electrical schematics and support staff training.
