Job summary

Amazon Operations in Daytona Beach seeks an Automation Engineer to maintain and optimize our material handling and automation systems across fulfillment sites.

You will design, implement, and support PLC-based control systems, collaborate with operations and safety teams, and help deliver reliable, efficient operations with a strong benefits package.

This full-time role is based in Daytona, Florida, offering a salary of USD 90,000 to 112,500 per year.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in CS, EE, automation, or 2+ years PLC/automation experience.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including shifts, weekends, nights, and holidays.
  • Experience designing, developing, implementing, and supporting PLC-based control systems.
  • Preference for material handling, flow and capacity management experience.
  • Preference for industrial control systems experience (hardware and software).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain automation systems essential to operations at the site.
  • Collaborate with building operations, operations engineering, FC start-up, AFT software, ACES, and safety teams for MHE optimization and project delivery.
  • Troubleshoot and improve material handling control systems including PLC/PC controllers, networks, motor control, servo drives, freq drives, and electrical distribution.
  • Monitor MHE performance metrics and work with maintenance/operations to resolve issues and analyze results.
  • Provide first-line escalation support to site technicians, on-site and remotely.
  • Lead failure analysis and incident reviews to support continuous improvement.
  • Conduct and evaluate building system assessments to strengthen material handling system performance.
  • Communicate technical concerns and project schedules clearly to leadership and maintenance staff.

  • We partner with building operations, operations engineering, FC start-up, AFT software, ACES, and safety teams to support MHE optimization and project delivery
