Job summary

TMC Technologies is seeking an Automation Engineer in Washington, DC to design, implement, and execute automated tests ensuring the reliability, accuracy, and performance of application functionality. The role requires strong Python skills and effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

A US citizenship and an active Top Secret clearance are mandatory due to federal contract requirements.

Qualifications

• US citizenship with active Top Secret clearance
• Minimum 2+ years of software development/testing experience
• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Onsite presence in downtown DC 5 days a week
• Proficiency in Python (2+ years) with the ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication across cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts in Python-based frameworks
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product teams to ensure test coverage
• Execute automated and manual tests across system functionality, integration, and regression behavior
• Investigate defects and support root-cause analysis and remediation activities
• Analyze test results and produce clear, actionable reports for stakeholders
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, standards, and documentation
• Assist in integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to strengthen delivery quality and efficiency
