Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking a Project Engineer for the ES Special Protection Systems team in Pullman, WA. You will design, develop, test, and commission POWERMAX power management and microgrid control systems, including RTAC programming and HMI development, with on-site commissioning support.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline.
• 2+ years of relevant application experience with electric power systems, industry practices, and automation practices.
• Willing to travel domestically and internationally a minimum of 25%.
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• Ability to learn new skills and work cooperatively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Possesses and applies fundamentals of power system automation and SEL products.
• Train customers on design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning and operation of systems.
• Complete work within scope, schedule and budget with high quality and safety.
• Prepare functional design specifications and maintain detailed design documents.
