Job summary

Shaw Industries is seeking an Automation Engineer to design, program, deploy, and support PLC-based control systems across our manufacturing and distribution operations. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Automation, Mechatronics or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley or Siemens).
• Experience supporting industrial control systems in a manufacturing environment.
• 3 years of relevant experience (a combination of education and experience equivalent to 3 years in a related field will be considered).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and commission PLC-based control systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
• Develop and support HMIs and SCADA systems (Ignition preferred).
• Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues in live production environments
• Support plant operations to improve uptime, quality, and performance
• Assist in execution of automation and capital improvement projects
• Collaborate with plant personnel, maintenance, and engineering teams
• Maintain and improve control system documentation and standards
• Apply safety standards and best practices to all automation solutions
• Identify and implement process improvements using automation technologies
