Job summary

NSG Group is seeking an Electrical/Automation Engineer for our Laurinburg, NC site to lead continuous improvement initiatives and manage projects with external contractors. You will develop and update electrical drawings, assist in commissioning, and drive control system modernization across the plant.

The role requires hands-on PLC, HMI/SCADA programming, and strong troubleshooting, with a background in AutoCAD and Studio 5000.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology required or equivalent experience.
Experience with Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and Function Block (Studio 5000 a plus).
Experience with HMI/SCADA programming.
Experience setting up process network devices and IIoT.
Strong multi-project coordination and troubleshooting skills.
Proficient in Microsoft software.

Responsibilities

Direct and coordinate continuous improvement activities using data-driven problem solving (5S, Kaizens, Kanban, 8D/5-Why, Six Sigma).
Manage projects with external contractors and ensure on-site safety policies are followed.
Develop, maintain & update electrical/site drawings via AutoCAD.
Assist in commissioning of new plant equipment following change processes.
Lead design changes and equipment overhauls involving new control systems.
Train personnel on system operations to improve capability.
Set up and program electrical controls panels, circuits and equipment.
Improve control systems and processes continually.
Program, troubleshoot and repair PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Eurotherm).
Provide training/support for advanced troubleshooting with Maintenance.
Read electrical schematics, relay logic and ladder diagrams.
