Job summary

U.S. Bank seeks an Automation Engineer to design, script, test, and maintain automations of moderate complexity across systems, delivering reliable test data and documentation.

The role requires hands-on Playwright with JavaScript/TypeScript, and strong knowledge of Java, JavaScript, and Python, plus experience with Maven, TestNG, Selenium, GitLab/GitHub, Jira, and related frameworks. You will work in a collaborative, Agile environment, mentor teammates, and contribute to feasibility

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 3–5 years of relevant work experience with programming concepts, development logic or automating complex processes.
• Experience writing and maintaining automated test scripts using Playwright.
• Strong knowledge of Java, JavaScript, and Python.
• Experience with automation tools and frameworks (Maven, TestNG, Cucumber, Selenium, Appium, JMeter, Karate, Postman, Apigee).
• Experience collaborating in GitLab/GitHub and agile tools (Jira, PractiTest).
• Ability to mentor and cross-train engineers new to the team.

Responsibilities

• Design, script, test, implement, and maintain automations of moderate complexity, significance, and risk.
• Create comprehensive test plans and test data requirements across systems.
• Write documentation describing automation capabilities and operating procedures.
• Estimate time tables and project tasks; analyze costs and time.
• Assess feasibility of new automation opportunities and determine best approaches.
• Mentor engineers newer to the team.
