Job summary
Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to design, develop, and implement automation control systems for industrial processes and warehouse equipment. The role emphasizes reliability, safety, and continuous improvement across conveyors, sortation, scanners and SCADA devices.
On-site leadership will mentor apprentices and collaborate with operations and engineering teams in Channahon, IL.
Qualifications
- 4-year degree or equivalent knowledge required.
- Ability to lead, train, and mentor automation engineers.
- Proficiency with CMMS and coordinating maintenance with stakeholders.
- Advanced verbal and written English skills.
- Strong problem-solving, adaptability, and continuous improvement mindset.
- Willingness to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, holidays.
Responsibilities
- Serve as site technical expert in automation control systems.
- Design, develop, implement and optimize control systems and software.
- Maintain and troubleshoot PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks.
- Follow documentation and Automation Change Management procedures.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and support teams to optimize MHE systems.
- Monitor MHE metrics, analyze performance issues, and lead troubleshooting.
- Communicate technical issues, timelines, and workarounds to leadership and stakeholders.
