Job summary

You will design and implement automation solutions, program Wittmann and Yushin robots, lead improvement projects, and collaborate across Engineering, Maintenance and Quality to boost uptime, OEE, and product quality.

Qualifications

General Purpose

Automation-focused manufacturing professional with extensive experience supporting, troubleshooting, and optimizing automated injection molding systems within a regulated medical manufacturing environment.

Principle Accountabilities
  • Design, implement, and optimize automation solutions to improve manufacturing efficiency, equipment reliability, and product quality within a high-volume medical injection molding environment.
  • Program, troubleshoot, and support Wittmann and Yushin 3-Axis robotic systems, including end-of-arm tooling, part removal, and integrated automation applications.
  • Lead automation improvement projects focused on reducing downtime, improving OEE, and increasing process capability.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation including operating procedures, preventive maintenance plans, troubleshooting guides, equipment standards, and training materials.
  • Investigate equipment, robotic, and process failures using structured root cause analysis methodologies and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, Tooling, Quality, and Operations teams to identify, develop, and execute automation opportunities that improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.
  • Support installation, startup, validation, and qualification of new automation equipment, robotic systems, and manufacturing technologies.
  • Analyze machine and process performance data to identify trends, recurring failures, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities to maximize equipment uptime and ensure reliable operation of automated manufacturing systems.
  • Provide technical leadership and hands‑on support for automation‑related troubleshooting, machine integration, controls, sensors, vision systems, and robotic applications.
  • Train technicians, operators, and production personnel on automation equipment, fault recovery procedures, safety requirements, and best practices.
  • Identify equipment wear patterns, failure modes, and process risks and drive sustainable corrective actions to improve equipment performance and longevity.
  • Support process validation activities and ensure automation systems meet customer, regulatory, and quality requirements.
  • Recommend and implement equipment upgrades, process enhancements, and automation technologies to improve manufacturing performance and reduce operational costs.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement by applying Lean Manufacturing principles and fostering technical innovation throughout the production organization.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education: Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, automation, manufacturing technology, or a related technical field preferred. Equivalent combinations of education, technical training, and relevant experience will also be considered. Experience & Knowledge:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing automation, robotics, or a related technical field.
  • Ability to read, understand, troubleshoot, and make modifications to robot programs (Wittmann, Yushin, FANUC, ABB, or similar platforms preferred).
  • Experience with industrial automation systems, sensors, actuators, and machine controls.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks for mechanical design, equipment modifications, and fixture development.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills related to automation equipment, robotics, and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of injection molding automation systems and end‑of‑arm tooling (EOAT) is a plus.
