Position Objective – What We Want You to Do
In alignment with the Company’s strategy and applicable U.S. policies and regulations, complete the installation and implementation of warehouse automation equipment and establish a comprehensive inspection, maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repair system to support the daily operation of production equipment. Ensure the reliable operation of automated equipment and, in the event of equipment failure, restore functionality in the shortest possible time and at the lowest reasonable cost to minimize impact on warehouse operations.
Position Responsibilities – What You Will Be Doing
- Develop annual maintenance plans and regional maintenance budgets for warehouse automation equipment. In accordance with Company policies and applicable laws and regulations, work closely with government authorities, landlords, equipment suppliers, and maintenance service providers to provide the support and services required for equipment operations.
- Execute annual maintenance plans and establish an equipment asset management system. Review maintenance records on a quarterly basis and share results with the Operations team. Prepare reports on automated equipment operations, including operating reports, incident/exception reports, maintenance reports, service-level reports, and improvement reports, and provide management recommendations.
- Regularly review equipment performance and recurring failures, develop preventive maintenance plans and system upgrade follow-up plans, and establish a standardized self-maintenance management system.
- Work with the Operations team to analyze the nature and types of historical equipment failures and develop improvement strategies for distribution center equipment and facilities. Determine whether maintenance should be performed in-house or outsourced. For outsourced maintenance and repair work, establish clear work standards and effectively manage service quality and costs.
- Develop and improve operating procedures, management standards, and safety guidelines for the automation equipment maintenance team, and effectively monitor their implementation.
- Provide training to equipment users on proper operation and use of equipment. Certain training may be provided by equipment manufacturers or third-party service providers. Guide operators in performing basic cleaning, inspections, and, where applicable, lubrication; maintain records of accumulated operating hours; and ensure timely identification and reporting of equipment abnormalities.
- Develop and train engineering personnel who are proficient in the operation and maintenance of warehouse automation equipment.
Position Requirements – What You Bring to This Role
Professional Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience working with automation equipment.
- Working knowledge of warehouse and logistics automation and conveyor equipment management.
- Bilingual Chinese and English skills are preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or above.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles and electrical control principles.
- Familiarity with equipment lubrication methods, maintenance tools, and electrical testing and measuring instruments.
- Familiarity with contamination sources affecting electromechanical equipment and methods for analyzing equipment failures and root causes.
- Understanding of the automation control principles of sorting systems.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance on automation equipment and develop preventive maintenance plans.
