Tenova Inc., a Techint Group company, is seeking an Automation Engineer L1 to join its Automation Department in the Pittsburgh area. You will design PLC and HMI software for high‑tech industry equipment, develop functional design specifications, and participate in the full project life cycle from sales support to commissioning.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Electrical/Computer Engineering, 2+ years of experience, experience with Siemens S7, Rockwell ControlLogix, GE, HMIs like

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience.
• Understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic and motor controls.
• Programming experience: PLCs with Siemens S7, Rockwell ControlLogix, GE.
• HMIs: Wonderware, Interacty X, RSView, WinCC.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize and perform in a high-pressure environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Software design for PLCs and HMIs for controlling high tech industrial equipment.
• Develop functional design specifications from contract technical requirements.
• Develop and test control software prior to delivery.
• Install and implement the control system at customer site.
• Coordinate with client, suppliers, and internal departments.
• Prepare equipment purchase specifications for hardware and software.
• Travel up to 20%.
